Travelogue #2

 My Sagada Escape

Author:

John Lloyd A. Flores

Alright! So, Sagada. Man, where do I even start? It's like stepping into a totally different world, way up in the mountains. Forget your city buzz; up there, it's all about chill vibes and seriously awesome views.

First off, getting there? A bit of a trek, for sure. Think winding roads and those views that make you wanna just roll down the windows and yell, "Woo!" And when you hit Sagada town? Super cute. Like, imagine a little village tucked away in the pine trees, where everyone's just kinda... relaxed.

The cool thing about Sagada is it's not just pretty. It's got this real, deep vibe. You gotta check out the burial caves, seriously. It's kinda spooky, but also super interesting. Seeing those old coffins hanging on the cliffs? Whoa. And the locals? Super friendly. They're all about keeping their traditions alive, so you might catch some traditional dances or see some seriously cool weaving. And the nature? Dude, it's insane. The rice terraces? Forget those picture postcards; seeing them in person is mind-blowing.

They're like, giant green staircases climbing up the mountains. And if you're up for a hike, Mount Kiltepan at sunrise is a must. You'll be swimming in clouds, I swear. It's like something out of a dream. If you're feeling adventurous, go spelunking in Sumaguing Cave. It's a bit of a squeeze, but totally worth it. You'll see all these crazy rock formations, like you're exploring another planet. And Bomod-ok Falls? Perfect for a cold dip after a long hike.

Sagada's not about fancy stuff. It's about getting back to basics, connecting with nature, and seeing a culture that's still kicking it old-school. It's the kind of place that sticks with you, you know? Like, you leave feeling all refreshed and grounded. So, if you're looking for a getaway that's real and raw, Sagada's your spot. You won't regret it.

Autobiography #2

Life as Me

Author:

Guerrero, Fiona, A.

I am Fiona A. Guerrero, proud daughter of Cherrylyn Alano who is my beautiful mother and Joenel Guerrero who is my handsome father. My mother gave birth to me on 8th of November year 2006 in Sunico Medical and Maternity Clinic in the city of Antipolo. It was a bright sunny Wednesday when a beautiful girl was welcomed into the world. After 2 years my mom gave birth again with a girl, my sibling and they named him Frennylyn which was a cute name. After living for years in Taytay Rizal, we moved to Binangonan where my Grandmother on my mother's side and my Uncle's live.

My mom worked as a business consultant while my father works in government. They're not always with us and is busy with their works so only us and our Grandmother are in the house. We also had a babysitter to look after me and my sibling.

I remember that I would always use my tablet and play games all day long and it was fun. During my elementary days I signed up to become a majorette for our drum and lyre but with my height I was task to be a Flag holder and not majorette. It was so fun always performing when our school has an event and would have a parade. Although it is tiring but I really like what I'm doing.

Now I'm in my second year and last year in Senior High School and things started as fun as the beginning last year. I do not expect much in this year and just go with the flow. It's a fun and happy year even if there are problems here and there. I'll just face all of that head held high. There are so many things that happened this year some are happy and some are sad but I'm thankful for all of that because it made me grow more as a person.

I wish to graduate, finish school, have a job that pays well and help my family. I want to live the life I want, I want to succeed, I want to have a happy family that love each other and lastly I want to live as free as a dove.

It was September, 5, 2024 when my mom and I decided to escape the city bustle and visit Bosay Resort in Antipolo. We arrived at 3:00pm after a ride. The resort's ambiance immediately put us at ease.

Our first impression was the stunning view of the city and beautiful pool. We spent the whole swimming relaxing by the pool, enjoying the scenery, enjoyed, was particularly refreshing. Later, we dined at the resort restaurant, enjoyed. The food was delicious, well-prepared, with a great view. The evening was filled with laughter, relaxation and conversation.

Bosay Resort offered a perfect blend of relaxation and recreation. We particularly enjoyed you liked, the friendly staff, the cleanliness of the resort, the comfortable accommodations. It was the ideal getaway for reason,a much-needed break, a family gathering, a romantic escape. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking a tranquil retreat near the city.

Personal Narrative

 Echoes Beneath the Sorrows

Author:

Janine Denise C.  De Castro

Within the span of a few devastating months, my world was scattered by the successive losses of three beloved pillars in my life.

April 2, 2023, etched itself into my memory like a scar that refuses to heal. It was the day my Tita Joy left us, leaving behind two innocent souls, aged 7 and 3, who would never experience the warmth of her loving embrace again, like I did. The news hit me like a tidal wave, crushing me beneath it's weight. I was devastated, not just because she was gone, but also because of the intense void she left in the lives of those she loved.

As I navigated the dark waters of grief, another  blow awaited me. May 15, 2023, my Tito Erwin's kind heart ceased to beat. His passing was a personal loss, as he was more than just a relative – he was a friend who knew how to make me laugh, even on my worst days. His absence left a gaping hole in my life, and I found myself longing for the sound of his voice, the twinkle in his eye, and the warmth of his smile.

But fate, oh fate... you seem not yet done with me. June 14, 2023, marked the day my Yeye (grandmother) left this world behind. She was my rock, my confidante, my saviour. Her passing was a blow from which I feared I might never recover. I remembered the promise she made to me before she passed – to cook pancit for my graduation, a celebration that now seemed hollow without her. The medal I had earned seemed insignificant, a mere trinket, compared to the loss I had suffered.

As I looked back on those fateful months, I realized that grief had become my unwelcome companion. It had changed me, leaving an indelible mark on my heart. Yet, even in the midst of sorrow, I found solace in the memories of them. Their live, their laughter, and their warmth continue to live on within me, a reminder that even in death, there is life, and that the bonds we form our friends and family can never be truly broken and gone, just a hiding echoes beneath our sorrows

We always strive to achieve a better life.

‎   Despite the challenges we face, I believe that education is the key to achieving a better life. That's why I strive to do my best in school to fulfill my dreams. As a student in the Humanities and Social Sciences strand, I'm interested in studying history, literature, and society. I believe that understanding our past and present will help shape a better future.
